Singer Asif’s writ in High Court to get passport

Singer Asif Akbar has filed a writ in the High Court seeking the direction to issue the passport after he was not able to apply for an e-passport.

Writ Home Secretary, Director General (BG), Immigration and Passport Department, Additional Director General (Passport, Visa and Immigration), Director (Administration and Finance), Director (e-Passport Project), Director (Divisional Visa and Passport Office, Dhaka), Joint The Director (Regional Passport Office, Dhaka) has been made the respondent.

He filed this writ in the relevant branch of the High Court on Tuesday.

In the writ petition, it has been requested to issue a rule as to why the inaction of the defendants to issue the e-passport applied for on November 11 last year will not be illegal and why the defendants should not be directed to issue a new e-passport.

The lawyer said that the High Court bench consisting of Justice Zafar Ahmed and Justice Akhtaruzzaman may hear the writ petition.

Singer Asif Akbar’s lawyer M Anisuzzaman said that Asif applied for a new e-passport on November 11 last year. But it has not been given yet. So he wrote a writ in the High Court to get an e-passport.
