SSC exams postponed due to floods

SSC and equivalent examinations have been postponed across the country due to floods in several areas including Sylhet and Sunamganj.
This has been informed in a press release of the Ministry of Education on Friday.

It has been said that SSC General, SSC Vocational and Dakhil examinations of all education boards to be held on June 19 have been postponed due to deteriorating overall flood situation in the country. The changed examination schedule will be informed later.

Several upazilas of Sylhet and Sunamganj have been inundated due to continuous rains and landslides. The flood situation in Sylhet has further deteriorated on Friday. The Bangladesh Army is starting work to rescue the Banavasi people.

Due to continuous rains and steep slopes of the last few days, the water level of rivers has also increased in Netrokona. As a result, there is a risk of flood.

The water of Ubdakhali, the main river of Kalmakanda upazila of the district, was flowing at 43 cm above the danger level till 8 pm on Thursday.

This year’s secondary, Dakhil and SSC vocational examinations were to start from next Sunday, with more than 20 students waiting to take part.
