The body of one of the 6 Bangladeshi migrants who lost their lives in the cold in the Mediterranean has reached the country. The body of Imran Hossain arrived in Dhaka on a flight on Friday night (February 11).
This was stated in a press release issued by the Bangladesh Embassy in Italy.
The deceased was identified as Imran Hossain of West Piarpur village under Sadar upazila of Madaripur. The expatriate welfare desk at Shahjalal International Airport, under the supervision of Wage Earners Welfare Board, received the body of Imran Hawladar. It was later handed over to the family.
The rest of the bodies will arrive today, Saturday and tomorrow, Sunday, the embassy said.
The six Bangladeshis died of severe cold on January 25 while on their way to the deserted island of Lampedusa in Italy. They were going to Italy from Libya.
