Bangladesh won the series in Maldives

A three-match series. The first was won by the host Maldives and the second was won by Bangladesh. The last match of the series last night (Friday) was virtually the final. In that match, Bangladesh won the series 3-0 in straight sets.

Bangladesh was runner-up in the recent International Volleyball Tournament held in Dhaka. The pain of not being able to be a champion on their own soil was alleviated by winning this inviting series. At the invitation of Maldives State Minister for Youth and Sports Ahmed Mahloof, Bangladesh took part in a three-match friendly series in the Maldives.

Maldives President Ibrahim Mohammed Salih enjoyed the second match on Wednesday night. He was accompanied by Maldives Sports Minister Mahloof, Bangladesh Volleyball Federation President and Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam.

The Bangladesh National Men’s Volleyball Team with 16 members reached the Maldives on 8 February. The president of the federation arrived in Male on 6 February. The Bangladesh team is scheduled to leave for Dhaka on February 13 tomorrow.
