US-Taiwan defense deal worth100 million dollars

The Biden administration has approved the sale of military equipment to Taiwan. With the approval, Taiwan will be able to purchase 100 million dollars worth of Patriot missiles and strengthen its defenses.

The U.S. Defense Security Co-operation Agency (DSCA) said in a statement that it had notified Congress of the approval of the US State Department for the sale of military equipment in Taiwan and had issued the necessary documents.

The statement added that the Patriot missiles would help strengthen Taiwan’s security and maintain the region’s political stability, military balance, economic and overall progress.

According to the agency, the main contractors for the sale of this military equipment in Taiwan will be two US companies, Raytheon Technologies and Lockheed Martin.
