The bill or draft law on the formation of Election Commission (EC) will be raised in Parliament today.
After Law Minister Anisul Haque raises the law, it will be sent to the concerned parliamentary committee for further scrutiny. This information has been revealed from the agenda of the Sunday session given on the website of the parliament.
Earlier on January 18, the cabinet gave its policy and final approval to the draft of Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioner Appointment Act, 2022.
On the same day, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said an inquiry committee would be formed to appoint the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and Election Commissioner (EC) with the approval of the President.
