Real’s Marcelo banned for three matches

Real Madrid defender Marcelo has been banned for three matches by the tournament committee. The Brazilian star left the field after seeing a red card in the Copa del Rey match against Elche.

Marcelo was shown a red card and was banned for one match. But he was banned for two more matches for calling the referee “bad”.

Marcelo’s ban only applies to the Copa del Rey. In other words, he will not be able to play in the possible two-leg semifinals, including the match against Athletic Club in the quarter-finals of the event.

Marcelo has also been fined 2,250 euros and will have to pay another 1,300 euros for misconduct.
