Appeal to the High Court to close the educational institution for 30 days

An application has been made to the High Court to immediately close all educational institutions for 30 days due to the increase in corona infection.

On Wednesday (January 19), lawyer Yunus Ali Akand filed a supplementary application in this regard.

He said a bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice SM Moniruzzaman could hear the appeal.
Yunus Ali Akand added, “On March 15, 2020, he filed a writ petition. The writ petition also directed to take necessary steps to identify the person infected with the coronavirus at all airports, seaports and land ports and to monitor the entrances of all ports.

The cabinet secretaries, health secretaries, education secretaries, civil aviation and tourism secretaries, home secretaries and the director-general of the health department were named as defendants.
The High Court ordered the hearing of the writ petition on March 19 of the same year. The High Court directed the Civil Aviation Authority and the Foreign Secretary to take necessary steps to keep the foreign returnees under compulsory quarantine and hand over them to the law enforcement agencies for a health check-up to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.

The implementation report of that order has not been received yet. So he presented it in court today. The court set Thursday (January 20) for an order.

Younus Ali Akand said that all the educational institutions including schools, colleges and universities have applied for 30 days as a supplement to the writ petition.
