Anti-drug operation in the capital, 53 arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Crime and Intelligence Division has arrested 53 people in anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital. They were arrested on charges of selling and consuming drugs.

As part of the regular anti-drug drive by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, they raided various police stations in the capital from 8 am on Tuesday to 8 am today and recovered drugs including drugs. A DMP source confirmed this information.

During the arrest, 10545 pieces of yaba, 484 grams, 20 pieces of pure heroin, 14 kg, 630 grams of cannabis, and 16 bottles of phencidyl were recovered from their custody. 37 cases have been filed against the detainees in the concerned police station under the Narcotics Control Act.
