Another person named Misbah Uddin (65) was killed when a train collided with a passenger bus at Railgate area of Narayanganj. He died at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital around 8 am on Monday (December 26). The death toll in the accident rose to four.
Md. Son of the deceased. Shahriar Mahmud Shishir said, “My father was working in cold storage in the Panchabati area of Narayanganj. At the end of the holiday, Anand Paribahan was returning home by bus. He was seriously injured when a train collided with a bus carrying them on the way.
Pedestrians later rescued him and took him to the local Victoria Hospital. We got the news and rushed him from Victoria Hospital to the cripple hospital in Dhaka. The cripple was shifted from the hospital to Dhaka Medical College with serious injuries to his father’s abdomen and other parts of his body. He died there this morning.
He further said that they are residents of Madanganj village, the neck horse of Bandar police station of Narayanganj.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp in-charge (inspector) said. Bachchu Mia confirmed the death and said that four of the injured were brought to Dhamme after being hit by a train on a bus in Narayanganj. One of the children died yesterday. Two bodies have been kept in the morgue for autopsy. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
Earlier on Sunday (December 27) afternoon, a train collided with a bus belonging to Ananda Paribahan in the number one tailgate area of Narayanganj. The bus twisted and twisted. Two people were killed on the spot. Eight others, including a child, were injured.
Four of the injured were brought to Dhaka Medical College. The seven-year-old child died there around 8:30 pm on Sunday.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station Shah Zaman said the train was entering Narayanganj Central Railway Station from Dhaka. At that time, a bus of Ananda Paribahan coming from Kalirbazar fell in front while crossing the number one gate area. Then the train hit the bus hard. Police and firefighters later recovered the bodies of the two men.
