Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) raided Ramnagar Eidgah ground in Damurhuda Upazila of Chuadanga and seized 4 kg or 343 ounces of gold.
Chuadanga-6 BGB captain Lt. on Friday evening. Colonel Mohammad Khalequzjan confirmed the matter to media personnel in a press release.
Earlier on Friday morning, the BGB seized the gold. The estimated value of the seized gold is two crore 57 lakh 20 thousand rupees.
According to the press release, on Friday (December 24) at 10 am smugglers were smuggling gold based on the information BGB Chuadanga-6 Battalion Commander Lt. Under the overall supervision of Colonel Mohammad Khalequzzaman (PBGM, PSC), the members of Baradi BOP conducted an operation at Ramnagar Eidgah ground, approximately one and a half kilometer inside Bangladesh, from Main Pillar No. 8 of Darshana border.
At that time, the BGB members seized 4 high-quality gold bars weighing 4 kg (342.94 lbs) without ownership. The estimated value of which is two crores 56 lakh 20 thousand rupees. The seized gold has been deposited at the Chuadanga Treasury office. A case is being filed with the Darshana police station in this regard.
