Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader is safe and sound, said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMME) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sharfuddin Ahmed.
He said, “We will keep him (Obaidul Quader) under observation for one or two more days.” That is why I am doing all kinds of experiments.
BSMMU Vice-Chancellor said this in a briefing on Wednesday (December 15) at around 11 pm.
Professor Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed said he (Obaidul Quader) came to the hospital for a routine checkup yesterday. He was admitted so that he could rest. Obaidul Quader has been examined. Today (Wednesday) morning I had a 10 member medical board meeting. He is much better than yesterday. Obaidul Quader’s diabetes was 13 yesterday, 5 today. This is normal. Blood pressure, oxygen saturation everything is normal.
He further said that Obaidul Quader had blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems – everything has settled down. He has no shortness of breath. There is no obstacle to going back.
Earlier, a medical board meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Sharfuddin Ahmed was held at VIP Cabin No. 411 at BSMMU around 10 am.
Meanwhile, his brother Abdul Quader Mirza came to the hospital at 9.50 am to see the sick Obaidul Quader. He later told reporters that he (Obaidul Quader) was healthier than before. He asked the people to pray for his recovery.
Earlier on Tuesday, Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) with chest pain.
