A fire broke out in a multi-story building in Hong Kong, leaving more than 300 people trapped

A fire broke out at the World Trade Center, Hong Kong’s tallest building. According to the China Morning Post, more than 300 people were trapped inside the building. But the international media, the BBC, says the number of detainees is in the hundreds. 

According to Hong Kong media reports, the fire broke out at 12:38 pm on Wednesday in a 36-story building at the World Trade Center on Gloucester Road in the Causeway Bay area of ​​Hong Kong.  

Firefighters are working to rescue those trapped in the building. Meanwhile, an old man was rescued and taken to hospital. He fell ill due to the fire and could not breathe properly.

The fire is believed to have started from the first floor of the building where the building was being renovated.
