Slovenian police find Bangladeshi man dead on the border

Police suspect the man, estimated to be 30 years old, died of hypothermia.

Slovenian police claim to have found the body of a Bangladeshi man near the country’s border with Croatia — an area known for being used by migrants to illegally cross the border while trying to reach Western Europe.

The body of the man, estimated to be in his early 30s, was found in the Dragonja valley area in southwest Slovenia, state news agency STA reported on Monday citing police in the Adriatic Sea town of Koper.

Police suspect that he died of hypothermia but an autopsy will be performed to ascertain the cause of death, says the report.

No other details, including the identity of the man, were immediately available.
