The verdict of the High Court has been postponed on the second and third remand of the popular actress of Dhaka cinema Parimani in the case of Narcotics Control Act.
The verdict will be announced in January after the Supreme Court recess in December, the court said.
A virtual high court bench of Justice Mostafa Zaman Islam and Justice ASM Abdul Mobin made the announcement on Thursday.
The High Court sought an explanation from two Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Debabrata Biswas and Atiqul Islam on the remand of Parimani. In the second summons, they sought unconditional pardon from the High Court.
After hearing all the parties, the High Court had fixed November 31 for the verdict.
As per the announcement, when the case came up for verdict on Thursday, Justice Mostafa Zaman Islam told the lawyers of all the parties, “We have not been able to come to a decision on all the issues so far.” We’ll take a moment. The verdict will be in January.
