BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was last admitted to the hospital on November 13. Although he was admitted with fever, now he is suffering from various complications. Demonstrations are going on at the initiative of the Nationalist Youth Party demanding his release and better treatment abroad. The protest started on the road in front of the press club at 10 am on Thursday.
Earlier, party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the seven-day program at a press conference after a joint meeting of the party at the party’s Naya Paltan office on Wednesday. As a part of this, this protest program of Juba Dal has started on the first day.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will address the rally as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Juba Dal president Saiful Alam Nirber and general secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku.
Juba Dal activists gathered in front of the press club in small processions from 9:30 am. They are chanting slogans demanding the release of Khaleda Zia. At around 10 am, thousands of leaders and activists occupied the road in front of the press club.
Meanwhile, senior vice president of Juba Dal Mortazul Karim Badru, vice president Abdul Khaleq, Saiful Islam Firoz, senior joint secretary Nurul Islam Nayan, convener of Dhaka Metropolitan North Shafiqul Islam Milton, member secretary Mostafa Jaglul Pashapel, Member Secretary Enamul Haque Enam, former president of North SM Jahangir, central organizing secretary Mamun Hasan and others.
