3 killed in train derailment in US

Three people have been killed after an Amtrak train derailed in the US state of Montana. Another 50 people were injured in the incident.

Five bogies of the train derailed near the town of Joplin around 4 pm local time on Saturday. The train was carrying 147 passengers from Chicago to Seattle.

Rail operator Amtrak says they are coordinating the rescue operation with local authorities. The cause of the accident has not been identified yet. However, the authorities have started an investigation. After the incident, the National Transport Safety Board sent a team of 14 members.
