Gunmen kill 15 soldiers in Cameroon

A number of civilians, including 15 soldiers, have been killed in rebel attacks in western Cameroon. Two attacks in Cameroon’s English-speaking west have killed 15 soldiers and several civilians, the defense ministry said.

A statement from the ministry said that on September 17, a convoy of elite rapid intervention forces was attacked by heavily armed “terrorists” in Bamesing, in the northwestern part of the country.

However, the country’s interior ministry said in a statement on Monday (September 20th).
