Power Department Secretary Md Habibur Rahman handed over the crest and certificate to DPDC Managing Director Engineer Bikash Dewan for winning the first place in Single Pole Transformer at the Innovation Showcasing organized by Power Department on Sunday.
Due to the traditional new power connection, increase in load and connection to LT up to 80 KW load, the installation of transformers is constantly increasing and there is a shortage of space in Dhaka city. Installing a two-pole transformer on a narrow road is difficult on the one hand and obstructs the movement of the road; on the other hand, installing a transformer near the house is likely to cause a fire. It also prolonged shutdown of two-pole transformers takes longer, resulting in increased customer suffering and higher cost of installing two-pole transformers.
Installation of two pole transformers requires about 50 square feet of space, while installation of single pole transformers requires 25 square feet of space. As a result traffic congestion will be reduced and customer satisfaction will be achieved. Single pole
transformer can be installed on the opposite side of the house or installation so the customer will be safer and accidents in case of fire will be reduced. Moreover, as it will take less time to install the transformer, the shutdown will be reduced and customer satisfaction will be achieved.
DPDC won the first place in the innovation showcasing organized by the Department of Power as it invented the process of installing this single pole transformer. At last DPDC Managing Director Engineer Bikash Dewan receives Certificate of Innovation Showcasing First Achievement from Mr Md Habibur Rahman, Secretary to Department of Power.
