Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said that the Ministry of Education is fixing the program to reopen educational institutions quickly.
He said this while speaking to reporters at a briefing after the cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, at the secretariat on Monday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the meeting virtually from her Ganobhaban resident while the Ministers and State Ministers joined the meeting from the Secretariat.
Asked whether the issue of opening educational institutions was discussed at the meeting, the cabinet secretary said, “Earlier, the secretary had given instructions at the meeting. Discussions were also held with the Ministry of Education today. They are fixing the program to open educational institutions as soon as possible. They will inform it formally after reaching a decision.”
The country’s educational institutions have remained closed since March 17 last year. According to the latest announcement of the government, this holiday has been extended till August 31.
