Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday predicted a low pressure area is likely to form over Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay during the next 24 hours.
The Met Office also forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chatogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country,” said a met office bulletin today.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
The highest temperature yesterday was recorded 35.3 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi in Rajshahi division while today’s minimum temperature was 24.6 degrees Celsius at Sylhet in Sylhet division.
Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6:00 am today was recorded 61 millimeters (mm) at Bhola in Barishal division.
