Bangabandhu’s political secretary, former minister and member of Bangladesh Awami League Advisory Committee Tofail Ahmed today said Bangabandhu laid the foundation of today’s Bangladesh.
“Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of Bangladesh, has made far-reaching plans for agriculture, banking, insurance, power and communication,” he added.
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a virtual seminar titled “Bangabandhu’s Economic Philosophy: Bangladesh in Industrial and Trade Development” on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 46th Martyrdom Anniversary and the National Mourning Day-2021, said a press release.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) organised the event.
Planning Minister MA Mannan and Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment adviser Salman F. Rahman were the special guests at the seminar.
Tofail said, “The process of restructuring, the newly born state has been prolonged due to the untimely demise of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”
But after 21 years in power, Bangladesh has entered the list of developing countries under the prudent leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of the father of the nation, he added.
Planning Minister said the government’s plans are still being implemented in light of the instructions given by the Father of the Nation.
Salman F Rahman said Bangabandhu’s economic philosophy was to build a balanced economy through public-private partnership after the independence.
FBCCI president Md Jasim Uddin said Bangabandhu has laid the foundation of the economic prosperity of Bangladesh.
Besides, former FBCCI president Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, AK Azad, Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, MP and President of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Barrister Nihad Kabir participated in the seminar as panel discussants.
