Awami League pays tribute to Bangamata on Her 91st birth anniversary

Awami League leaders and workers paid their respects at Bangamata’s grave at Banani Cemetery in the capital

Leaders of Awami League and its affiliated organizations have laid flowers at the grave of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on the occasion of her 91st birth anniversary.  Leaders and activists of the party paid their respects at Bangamata’s grave at Banani Cemetery in the capital on Sunday morning.

Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader, Presidium members Matia Chowdhury, Dr. Abdur Razzaque, Shajahan Khan, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif and AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary Ahmed.  Hossain, Mirza Azam, Deputy Minister for Water Resources Enamul Haque Shamim, Science and Technology Secretary of the party Abdus Sabur, Executive Member Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin and others were present.

At this time, Qur’an recitation, milad and prayer mahfil were organized there to seek the blessings of the soul of Bangamata in accordance with the hygiene rules.

Later, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader told reporters that Begum Mujib was not only Bangabandhu’s wife, She was Bangabandhu’s lifelong comrade.

Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the Awami League, said Begum Mujib had given inspiration, strength and courage to Bangabandhu in the crisis and struggle from behind the scenes.
