A total of 28,36,970 people have vaccinated on Saturday on the first day of nationwide mass vaccination campaign against COVID-19.
Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Director (MIS and Line Director, HIS & e-Health) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), revealed the information in a release issued on Saturday night.
According to the release, 2,783,172 people received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccines on Saturday while 53,798 others took the second dose. Among those who took the first dose, 15,14,936 were male and 12,68,236 were female. With this, the number of first dose recipients in the country rose to 1,30,72,969 people.
Among those who took the second dose on Saturday, 33,237 were male and 20,561 were female. With this, the number of people receiving the second dose increased to 44,97,315.
Meanwhile, 2,29,58,808 people have registered through the Surokkha app to get the COVID vaccine in the country till 5:30 pm on Saturday.
